WPF contests & handmade grids
Competitive and community metas. Entries happen on organizer sites — not on TappyPotato.

What the World Puzzle Federation does
The WPF coordinates international puzzle sport: World Puzzle Championship (WPC), World Sudoku Championship (WSC), and related calendars. National bodies run opens and qualifiers. Contests & federations on this atlas indexes those doors.
Grand Prix timing and bonuses
Online Grand Prix rounds are timed. Solving the set early often adds a remaining-time bonus that can outweigh raw puzzle points — speed and accuracy both matter. Exact formulas sit on the organizer page for that season.
Why solvers still chase handmade grids
Generators fill volume. Human authors plant a intended path, false trails, and a clean break. Neither is universally “better”; the community treats authorship as a craft when the break is memorable.
Championship testing culture
Contest grids are expected to be unique and solvable without guesswork under the published rules. Blind testing by experienced solvers is normal before a booklet ships.
Puzzle hunts vs single-player speed tests
WPF-style rounds optimize standardized grids against a clock. Team hunts (MIT Mystery Hunt and similar events) mix metas: answers from many puzzles feed a final meta. Different skill mix — bring a team.
Where discussion and handmade design land
Learning & community lists forums and channels (Logic Masters, Puzzling Stack Exchange, and others) where techniques and handmade links circulate. CTC-style video is for watching a path, not for a full library.
Historical booklets
Past WPC/WSC sets are often archived as PDFs on federation or community sites for practice. Train there; do not treat this atlas as the archive host.
What a meta-puzzle is
In a hunt, a meta consumes answers or intermediate data from several feeder puzzles to unlock a final extraction. Tracking feeders cleanly matters as much as any single grid.
