Norinori — rules and where to play

NORINORI · Nori-Nori / Seaweed

Rules

  1. Black cells form 1×2 or 2×1 dominoes; every black cell belongs to exactly one.
  2. Each block is exactly two cells.
  3. Two different blocks may never touch edge to edge.

How to start

Start where a black cell has only one partner

If a black cell has no possible mate, it is white.

Dominoes repel, so borders go white

Settle one block and its whole surrounding ring turns white at once.

Use room borders when present

Room-divided variants usually state the number of black cells per room, which is a free handle.

Where players get stuck

  • Letting two blocks touch by an edge — the single most common error.
  • Accepting a three-cell run as a legal block.
